چکیده

Subarea Tree Routing (STR), a new routing protocol for multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks, is proposed. The novelty of the STR protocol is to divide the whole network into many subareas constructed as a result of establishing subarea trees. Its main idea is to identify root nodes by manual configuration or auto-discovery process firstly, then the root nodes originate the process of establishing subarea trees, and finally each node either joins in a subarea tree or become an interconnect node. STR belongs to hierarchical routing protocol and does not attempt to consistently maintain routing information in every node. Furthermore, through the use of tree’s intrinsic routing function, the STR protocol exhibits hybrid behavior of proactive and ondemand routing protocols. We prove the correctness of STR, and our simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves lower route discovery delays, lower route discovery load and better performance of normalized routing load in large, mobile, ad hoc networks as compared with AODV.

Broadcast Routing in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks: A Particle Swarm optimization Approach

While routing in multi-hop packet radio networks (static Ad-hoc wireless networks), it is crucial to minimize power consumption since nodes are powered by batteries of limited capacity and it is expensive to recharge the device. This paper studies the problem of broadcast routing in radio networks. Given a network with an identified source node, any broadcast routing is considered as a directed...

The Feedback Based Mechanism for Video Streaming Over Multipath Ad Hoc Networks

Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...

A Hidden Node Aware Network Allocation Vector Management System for Multi-hop Wireless Ad hoc Networks

Many performance evaluations for IEEE 802.11distributed coordination function (DCF) have been previouslyreported in the literature. Some of them have clearly indicatedthat 802.11 MAC protocol has poor performance in multi-hopwireless ad hoc networks due to exposed and hidden nodeproblems. Although RTS/CTS transmission scheme mitigatesthese phenomena, it has not been successful in thoroughlyomit...

Intuitionistic fuzzy logic for adaptive energy efficient routing in mobile ad-hoc networks

In recent years, mobile ad-hoc networks have been used widely due to advances in wireless technology. These networks are formed in any environment that is needed without a fixed infrastructure or centralized management. Mobile ad-hoc networks have some characteristics and advantages such as wireless medium access, multi-hop routing, low cost development, dynamic topology and etc. In these netwo...

SOM: Spiral-Fat-Tree-Based On-Demand Multicast Protocol in a Wireless Ad-Hoc Network

A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is a characteristized by multi-hop wireless links, in the absence of any cellular infrastructure, as well as frequent host mobility. Existing on-demand multicasting protocols are categorized into tree-based and mesh-based strategies. In this paper, we propose a new on-demand multicast routing protocol, named spiral-fat-tree-based on-demand multicast protocol (SOM...
